BLOCKAI IS THE FUTURE!! CONTENT CREATORS REJOICE BLOCKAI RETHINKS COPYRIGHTS

Buster The Ska Doggie What a tool! Formal, irrefutable proof of copyright ownership by just uploading my art. This is an visionary idea using “Bitcoin Technology.” The Blockchain technology always had the potential to be a great tool for us, copyright owners. Blockai had the vision to make this possible. In all my time as an independent label operator (Beserkley, Fun Fun Fun Recordings), no one has offered a better tool to manage artwork copyrights. Besides the music, there is a lot of art (covers, logos, video images, and photos) that are exclusive to my little label. Blockai allowed me to add these images smoothly and intuitively. I realize nothing can replace the copyright office, but Blockai is the next best thing.  Being able to prove ownership in a time stamped Bitcoin Blockchan is the “best evidence” I need for much of my artwork, and Blockai allows me so see where all the image uses on the WWW are.

The final joy is the moment the art is done, ‘Wham Bam Thank You Mam,” It’s protected!

MASTERED FOR STREAMING

I’ve got a new passion!

I’m helping preserve music!

With some help from Michael Rosen, I’m digitally remastering songs recorded originally on cylinder and 78 rpm.

These masterpieces deserve to be enhanced so they are listenable w/o the snap and crackle of their original recording mediums, while converting to headphone friendly.

Selling Out Nightclubs And Still in High School

uptones-rolling-stone-ska-berkeley-joel-selvin-podcast
The Uptones were selling out night clubs when they were still Berkeley High School students. Uptones’ founders, Eric Din and Paul Jackson sit down with Bay Area music journalist, Joel Selvin, and talk about why they choose to be a Berkeley Ska Band. The podcast includes lots of Uptones music. It’s worth a listen, and makes me proud to be a small part of this narrative. Listen to the podcast, you’ll really enjoy it!

PowerPop!

power-pop

I love Power Pop.

I love electric guitars.

And I love songs that mean something.

Here’s the wikipedia definition of Power Pop:

“Power pop is a popular musical genre that draws its inspiration from 1960s British and American pop and rock music. It typically incorporates a combination of musical devices such as strong melodies, clear vocals and crisp vocal harmonies, economical arrangements and prominent guitar riffs. Instrumental solos are usually kept to a minimum, and blues elements are largely downplayed.”

The 1% of the 99% of Music You Need To Hear.

The “99% of music” that’s being made by smaller recording companies or the artist themselves contains some true musical gems.

At WWW.FunFunFunMedia.com, we focus on the music gems we’ve found in the “99%” that are available for free MP3 download legally.

Our bloggers find music they love, and they post it for you to find. This is content filtering with the criteria being music love, not commercial appeal.

The artists and recording companies need exposure for their music.

If you like the song, there are two things you can do. One, you can buy more of that artist’s music. Two, you can spread the word about the music on your social network. Doing any of these actions makes you a music lover just like us.

You can help the 99%.

HELP US SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THIS GR8 MUSIC.

Let’s Talk Ska

I Love Ska. One of the first sites we created is Ska4u.com.

You’ll find the best list of Free Ska MP3s at this site.

Ska combines the elements of Caribbean mento and calypso with American jazz and rhythm and blues.

Then in the 1970s Ska met punk.

And it has grown worldwide ever since.

Although Ska has not been accepted by the mainstream radio and the established music business, Ska is very popular with the younger generation.

MP3 in Jail

Wow. I remember when the MP3 file was verboten.

When we started MP34U in 1999, there was so much misinformation about this file format, we were advised to change the name and lose the “MP3”.

Now 13 years later the “MP3” experience is so mainstream, it has made it to prisons in the USA.

Believe it or not, The U.S. Bureau of Prisons is unveiling a program that will allow many of its more than 200,000 inmates to carry MP3 players, with personalized music lists, so they can pass the time.

An inmate will be able to purchase a MP3 player in the prison commissary, and they can create his/her own playlist.

The inmates can choose from a song list of about 1 million titles,

the list will be monitored to exclude “explicit” tracks, including material such as obscene or racially charged language.

The program will be managed within an internal computer system, allowing prisoners to scan the available titles, listen to samples and download them to their devices. Seems time they are a changing.
